Mowich Face - 2007

Mowich Face - July 27th

The recent rain and warm weather have melted the lower third of the Mowich. This section is now 50 degree scree and patches of snow rather than the more enjoyable and consistent 50 degree snow. This rock will be very loose, very prone to rock fall, and very hard to protect. Above 10,800' the route still looks like it is still in excellent shape. The hourglass has melted out near the top, but the climbers right variation (the Direct Central Mowich) still looks great.

Mowich Face - June 26th

Interestingly, there are no recorded ascents (or attempts) of the Mowich Face in 2007. Thankfully, Stoney Richards snapped another image for inspiration. If you climb the line, send us your report!

May 22nd

We don't have any route condition reports, but I do have a nice image of the route. Enjoy this May 22 pic of Rainier's west face, including Edmunds Headwall and North Mowich Face.
